Minnesota: Infiltration eligibility must be established before measuring the practice
MPCA’s manual identifies construction-permit prohibitions on infiltration in certain conditions, including fueling/maintenance drainage and contamination risks. Infiltration is not a universally acceptable replacement for a designed treatment practice.
Sitework Estimate provides remote, plan-based quantity takeoff support. This page does not establish a local office, completed local project, engineering approval or permit coverage.
What this changes in the bid review
Estimating interpretation: A quantity reviewer should not change a lined treatment system to infiltration to simplify a bid. Hold the approved configuration and request clarification where source-area use or investigation data conflicts with the detail.
Check the project documents
Clarification to request: What documented eligibility and site investigation support the selected infiltration or non-infiltration practice?
